NAFD Diploma Awards 2016

Each year, the National Association of Funeral Directors recognises the talent and skills of funeral directors who have demonstrated the highest levels of knowledge and professionalism in the delivery of funeral services.

The Annual Diploma Awards ceremony is a major annual event in which practising funeral directors receive certificates for the Association’s Diploma in Funeral Directing (DipFD) or Funeral Arranging and Administration (DipFAA).

This year is no exception. Twenty-eight students are due to collect DipFAA certificates whilst 13 funeral directors are set to pick up the DipFD. A further two students are to receive a Certificate in Education and Training, meaning they are now able to teach funeral directing diploma courses.

The awards ceremony will take place at Birmingham City University on Saturday, 3 December. Many of the graduates will be accompanied by proud employers and relatives, as they celebrate the success of a 12-month study programme, often done whilst working as a full-time employee of a funeral directing business.

In 2016, the ceremony is being made possible thanks to the kind support of sponsor firms, led by joint principal sponsor Perfect Choice Funeral Plans and South Essex Insurance Brokers.

The Awards Ceremony will take place at Birmingham City University, in the brand new state of the art Curzon Building, Millennium Point, Birmingham.

Registered students who have successfully achieved their DipFAA or DipFD in 2015 – 2016 should contact their tutor to discuss the opportunity to attend the event, accompanied by their tutor, their employer (where employer funded) and a maximum of two guests.
