Regulation of funeral planning firms and government consultations top packed agenda

Held at the historic Coombe Abbey, near Coventry in Warwickshire, the one-day Autumn Meeting is designed to ensure members are up to date on Association business, bring important votes to the table, engender lively discussion and set the agenda for the following six months.
Graham McAusland, Chief Executive of the Funeral Planning Authority (FPA) has accepted an invitation to speak at this year’s meeting. During the session he will outline significant constitutional changes planned for the FPA, and there will be discussion and debate on the ways in which the FPA and NAFD can work together more closely to drive up standards in the funeral planning sales market.
The event will also include an update from Chief Executive CEO, Mandie Lavin will bring the membership up to speed on key developments, give an overview of her first year in post and report on regulatory developments. She will also set out the financial context and strategic direction for the Association.
This meeting comes at a critical time for the profession and follows on from a highly successful Conference, held in Brighton, in May. Members are urged to attend and play their part in informing and setting future policy for the profession and Association.
Starting with coffee at 09.30, concluding late afternoon and with a convivial lunch in the middle, to enable colleagues and friends to catch up with each other, the NAFD Autumn Meeting is an event not to be missed.
